I forgot that Britney was going to be on the MTV Video Music Awards last night until it was too late to watch, so I hunted it down online. You can find it here now.
So, I was a bit shocked. I'd read that it was bad, but it was really like watching a train wreck. I feel bad for everyone involved, especially Britney. But then I think, "Wait, she's got millions of dollars. Why am I feeling sorry for her?"
My fave line about the "performance": "The over all effect was that of an out-of-shape hooker with an inner ear infection." (From here)

As my disclaimer... I don't know Britney all that well so when I watched the video I thought that that wasn't too bad except maybe my computer was uploading really slow and jerky like.
Then I thought this ain't right... and watched again on my faster computer...hmmm...same jerky business. So then I go back and watch an older video of her from '01 and I was like WOW!
Back in '01 she was so much leaner and could dance without missing the steps or trying to fake it.
But still I do feel bad for her despite her money and what Sarah Silverman said about her was NASTY and NOT RIGHT! UGH!

I had my nails done on Friday, and the shop had Britney videos playing so I got to watch her for an hour. I didn't like the videos. Too much skin, too much make up, too much like soft porn. It left me wondering who was in charge of this young woman's career? Then I watched the MVA's on Monday, and I asked myself the same question.

Although it was uncool in my circle back in the day, I loved Madonna. Brittney on the other hand has never impressed me, not for one second. I don't feel anything for her, except for a little disgust.
